Disclaimer: I am more than what is written here, I know. I am sure I have forgotten, or bypassed, with the lack of better expression thereof, some important or less important attitudes that I may more often than not manifest. As I have stated before, I am quite not good at writing about myself. Characteristics written here are correct and true as far as the writer, which is me, is concerned. What I’m trying to drive at is that this so-called “Who I Am” page might be accurate or not. It wholly depends on the perspective of the person who knew me in my earlier days, who knows me today and who will be knowing me better in the coming days. It is simply a matter of getting to know the real Kevin deeper. ******************************************************************************************************** Kevin Bonafe y Ardevela – this is his full name. He loves it and he’s proud of it. K, Kev, Kevs, Nini and Vin – those are his nicknames given by past and present colleagues. Although he prefers to be called simply by his first name, Kevin, he is also used to be called Nini and K by his office mates Arthur and Vanessa, respectively. (Nini means little girl in Bikol, by the way. Hihihi) Twenty – that tells how old he is. Indeed, he is pretty young but his prudence and responsibility prove otherwise. Taray! August 11th – this date puzzles him a lot. He always thought that lunatics were born in February. Apparently not. This is his birth date. Hehe Chinese-oriented facial characters although, ironically, ancestry is more related to the Filipinos and the Spaniards – that’s evidently the reason why people are a bit puzzled when they learn that he is of Philippine and Spanish bloodline, rather than Chinese. Don’t even think of asking him why that occurred. He’s only a victim of circumstances. Standing at about 5’8”, he is tall, yes, but is only a little more than 50 Kg. He might look undernourished but never his mind over matter. Isa pang, ‘Taray!’ LOL Black to brownish hair with golden highlights – yes, he loves being fashionable and getting hair highlights is one of his ways. In short, maarte siya. WTF?! Hahaha Kevin is… Indecisive at most times. He knows what he wants, as other people do. But there always comes a certain situation in someone’s life that needs thorough decision-making like which to choose between McDonald’s or Jollibee for lunch; or whether to get a 3G mobile phone or a PDA phone; or whether to watch Bedtime Stories or The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. That’s how indecisive he is. Gawd. Lazy. Yes, he is so very lazy! He’s a human sloth – a sexy human sloth. Yeah baby! Hahaha! One who loses enthusiasm easily but finds the enthusiasm effortlessly again. It is but of human nature. He loves collecting novels when he was in high school but lost it in college and he’s into it again at the moment. He used to write a lot a good 5 years ago then found himself writing again. He loves someone so bad at first but loses the passion to continuously do it. When the person comes back and shows that he still cares for Kevin, he gradually loves the person again. His being indecisive comes into play here. A person who well adapts to any change. He’s got that attitude of a chameleon. He may seem a bit uneasy the first time, but there’s always the assurance that he gets the hang of whatever it is that has changed. Unfortunately, but fortunately at times, it sometimes gets to the point that he forgets about the thing that has been replaced by the recent adjustment. Unpredictable. Yes, he is unpredictable – but most of his friends would bluntly tell him that he is fickle-minded. He can be mad at you in one second and be sweet to you after another second. After another second, you’ll find out that he was just kidding about his anger. He can change his feelings towards a guy because of another guy but finds out in the latter part that he wants to be with the first guy but cannot go back, fearing that he might hurt the former. Again, being indecisive comes into play here. Stubborn. His head is hard – rock hard. (And no, it’s not that! Hahaha!) He does what he wants, when he wants, and how he wants it. He is the most stubbornnest person I’ve ever met. He doesn’t listen to most people’s advice even if he knows that what he was advised of is for his betterment. If he listens to someone, which is not always the case, he sees to it that it’s not quite obvious that he is going to do what was told of him. Speaking of pride. Hehehe Strong. Physically strong? Not really. Emotionally strong? I must say he is. He knows when to move on when he needs to and when he must. He doesn’t hate crying but he really doesn’t shed that much tears. The time that he cried so much was when his father died and when he misses him so much. Crying over boys? Kevin? Duh! Err… Well… Okay, fine. He did cry over boys. He cried thrice – just thrice – and that’s about it. It never happened again as of press time. Timid now, outgoing later. He meets new people, he acts timidly. Fortunately, his new-found friends would buy his being “reclusive and introvert.” He gets along well with these people, he acts like he’s from the sanatorium of the mentally ill. Still fortunately, these new people in his life are much like him – not really like retards – but people who complement him thus, being really good friends with him. Funny. Funny? Really now? Uhm. So I’ve heard and so I’ve been told. Hehehe. But he is. Just make sure that he feels comfortable with you and he’ll be one of the most spontaneous, candid and crass persons – which will bring out the clown in him – you’ll ever meet. A hopeless romantic. He loves the feeling of being in love and being loved. He loves romantic flicks. He loves the idea of love. He does. He just does. Kevin is not… What you think he is. He gets lots of initial impressions from his then new-found friends. It ranges usually from a nerd to someone shy, and at times to a person who is all-knowing and snob. He finds some annoying but of course those are just impressions, they eventually change to something positive. If interested to know, you can always reach him through this site. Hehehe. Your ordinary gay guy. You know gay people. They’re so vain and maarte and magulo and all. But then there are just times, unpredictable times, when his interests seem to become a bit inclined to his biological gender. Once in a while, you might find him playing with computer games, Transformers and Power Rangers; reading car and FHM magazines; going to the pub and boozing with gusto; watching straight porn; even shooting hoops at TimeZone. Sounds crazy right? At the end of the day, though, he will still just be the lovable but extraordinary Kevin everyone knows – the gay one. LOL! WTH?! Unfaithful. No questions about that. He is faithful. I’ve known him for like more than 20 years and he’s been faithful to his partner in every relationship he’s had. Basta. Faithful siya. ‘Wag na matanong. Just try him. Hahahahahaha! Kevin loves… History. That’s his first love – his second would be men. (Whatta?!) Got it from his father, the very first historian he’s ever met. His father used to tell him stories about historical events and books that he’d read, especially the Bible, the world’s most published book. This is also the reason why he looks at the Bible as a historical artifact, not something that teaches him His religion. English. The third-most spoken language in the world is the medium being used in his workplace. He loves speaking and learning more of the language, but on the contrary, he doesn’t use it every time. Whenever the big bosses are not around, he speaks with his colleagues in the vernacular. It’s like Kevin will play while the bosses are away, but I’m positive he does love it. There’s just that teeny weenie exception. ;) People who are amused with his life. Too egotistic, right? Haha! But he just loves it when people are entertained, bewildered at times, when he tells unique stories about his life and when he shares the truths about him. It just elates him seeing the expressions on people’s faces. It elates him the way only sex does. Yeah, sex. Intelligent men. He goes out with different kinds of men, but what he finds interesting the most are intelligent and witty men. He might find you cute and hot and he might want you to poke him or vice versa, but if you don’t have anything sensible to talk about, he’s going to be bored, bored and booooooooored. He might go out to give it a second shot, but that’s just about it if still the guy won’t have anything sane to say. On the other hand, even if you’re not that good looking but you’re on Kevin’s same page, he’ll be talking and sharing things with you and, mind you, he’ll enjoy the hell out of it. And, as Melanie Marquez puts it, “You can never can tell what might happen next.” *wink* Kevin hates… People who get on his way. I think everyone does. He only differs because he hates them, he really does. At times it shows, and the person feels so distressed. He feels bad too but he thinks he has to let it out for both party’s sake. After feeling bad, he feels good again because the other person felt bad. *devilish laugh* The sun. Oh, agreed. But I think he doesn’t hate it, he’s afraid of it. Haha! Anyhow, he hates the sun and its aftermath – sweating. Oh, yes, he just hates the sun and sweating. When he’s exposed to the sun, he sweats tremendously, and when it does happen, his neck, nape, upper back and chest would turn red – crimson red like it was scratched by an angry woman with long fingernails. And if he wasn’t afraid of the sun, he could’ve been tan, right? And if he wanted to be tan, why the heck would he buy Pond’s, Olay and Nivea?! Kevin wants… More of life. He wants to finish college and get on his way to better his accomplishments. He wants to help his family be alleviated from whatever it is that they need help with. He wants to help his beloved country be known for its economic prowess and pristine, lovely beaches, not bitches. He wants world peace. He wants a harmonious relationship to ensue between China and Taiwan. He wants to streets of Metro Manila be free of flood during the rainy season. He wants to know if Jesus indeed had an affair with Mary Magdalene. He wants the City of Naga to be a huge metropolitan area much like that of Manila and Cebu, but a cleaner and more organized one. He wants to know if the Church during the Age of Chivalry degraded women to the point of accusing them as heretics thus vanquishing them of their rightful place in the Church. He wants to see the Philippines with more Bonifacio Global City CBDs. He wants many things a normal twenty-year old wouldn’t even care about. Kevin needs… Someone. Although an ostentatious list is in his wants, he only needs one thing, or person that is, to complete him. He needs someone that would accept him for who he is and for who he is not; someone who would take care of him when he’s ailing or when he just wanted to be taken care of; someone who would teach him to be not so lazy; someone who he would want to share his love for history with; someone who would tell him of his wrong deeds but still completely understand him; someone who won’t leave him behind even when he vomits in a bar or faints due to drunkenness in a grandiose party; someone who would be completely faithful; someone who won’t be tired speaking with him even if it’s already 3AM; someone who would argue with him at times because of his immaturity regarding some things but would always be there to guide him to the right path; someone who would absolutely love him; someone who would be his significant other.
